Pimples on the Chest Are Ugly! How to Get Rid of Them December 3rd, 2009

You are all ready for your trip to the beach tomorrow. Youve got your swim suit, your suntan lotion and OH NO, youve got pimples on your chest. It is too late for prevention, you need to know how to get rid of pimples on chest NOW!

Relax, although it may not be possible to get rid of all pimples on chest overnight, there are things you can do to minimize them or at least make them less noticeable. Here are a few suggestions.

Take a hot shower and wash using an exfoliating soap. This will open your pores and remove dead skin. Immediately after you bathe the pimples may appear redder and more swollen, but this just your body doing its job fighting the infection. By the time your skin cools they may disappear entirely or at least be much smaller and less noticeable.

Use pore strips. These handy little strips work like a charm. Just place them over the affected area, wait a few minutes and pull them off. They should pull all the dirt, oil and dead skin out of your pores.

Use a topical treatment that contains benzoyl peroxide. This chemical kills the bacteria that cause some pimples. It is best to use it right after you have showered so it can penetrate into your open pores.

If all else fails, you can apply a bit of cover up to the pimple. Just be careful, some cosmetics will clog your pores which will only lead to more zits.

The one thing you should never do is pop a pimple. This will only spread the infection and leave you with a red, swollen scab which isnt very nice to look at either.

Most important, remember that the people you are going to be spending time with are more interested in the whole you than in a couple of blemishes. Chances are good that they have a few pimples on chest themselves.

An Easy, Free Way to Cut Down on Acne December 2nd, 2009

This may not help everyone, but for those of you who routinely touch your face throughout the day and who are suffering from acne, try avoiding touching your face. Your hand and your fingers in general are very oily, when you touch your face without need, some of the excess oil stays on your face. Oil in ones face is one of the major causes of acne.

I realize that sometimes one has no choice but to touch their face. If you have to touch your face, try putting a napkin over your fingers, this minimizes the oil that is transferred from your fingers to your face.

Before eating, remember to wash your hands. Not only does this have health benefits, but washing your hands reduces the amount of oil your hands and fingers will have. Throughout the course of a meal, it is common for one to touch their face and the area around their mouth especially, on accident. You do not have to completely stop touching your face whatsoever, just cutting down on the number of times you do needlessly will help.

Stopping, or at least cutting down, on how many times you touch your face will be a tough habit to break, but you will thank yourself once you do finally break your habit. It simply isnt worth it! People pay hundreds of dollars on acne treatments, they should be more than willing to break one little habit that will help them more than anything. It will only take a few weeks for you to break your habit!

Types of Pimples – Top 2 Types of Pimples December 2nd, 2009

Are you one of those people that are blessed with skin that never sees a blemish or a blackhead? If you are, you can probably stop reading right now. There are many types of pimples out there. If you have acne, you know how difficult it can be wondering what type will literally pop up next. Here are the top two types of pimples that you can get and how to cure yourself of them using various remedies.

One type of acne pimple is called a pustule. Pustules are your common whitehead that is inflamed. These are in a way the worst kind that you can have because you cannot pop them and they never seem to go away. You can go to a dermatologist to have them burned off, but more times than not, they recur and your efforts only cause damage to the skin.

The second type is called a blackhead. These are your typical pimples which result from pores in your skin being blocked and the sebaceous glands fill this area with oil causing inflammation and redness. These are better left alone, however some can be popped up with minor scarring.

The third type is papules. These are red lesions. One of the best remedies for these is actually a cleansing of the liver and also at detoxification of your body. You can naturally, even through excessive sleep and rid yourself of this type of acne if you can detox and rest sufficiently.

The fourth type of acne is called a nodule or a cyst. These are the kind of deep and hurt. Often this type of acne requires some type of medication from the doctor that is either topical or ingested. These can become very disfiguring if not treated.

The best solution for dealing with acne of any kind is to do three things in particular. First of all, watch your diet. Though it is not scientific fact, but most people that experienced acne know that excessive ingestion of sugary products, extreme levels of stress, lack of sleep can contribute greatly to the development of acne not only on her face and all of your body.

Anyway, it is a kind of indicator of the state of your health. By making sure that you maintain a healthy diet, stay away from as much stress as possible, and to get enough sleep, your body will naturally take care of itself and rid itself of toxins on a regular basis. Doing this, you will help prevent any type of pimples from developing on you.

When You Should Use Antibiotics For Acne December 1st, 2009

Acne is a condition that has been misunderstood for many years, and in the past it was thought that acne was a resulted from all manner of things, from not washing properly to eating too much chocolate. It was also thought by many that acne affected only adolescents. However, there are many myths about acne, and the truth is that this is a condition that can affect different people of varying ages, at different levels of severity, and for a variety of reasons that are usually beyond the control of the sufferer.

In short, acne is actually caused by excess oils and bacteria that get trapped with the follicles of the skin. Swelling begins when your body tries to fight the build up of oil and bacteria, and this causes the pimple to form. Bouts of acne can be severe or mild, and can affect people for varying periods. The condition can be brought about for a variety of reasons, such as hormonal changes, stress levels, or external factors such as infection and bacteria.

Treating acne

The treatments for acne can vary depending on your circumstances and on the severity of the condition. For instance, a pregnant woman with acne would need a different treatment to a teenager with acne. Likewise, those with milder acne will receive different types of treatment to those with a very severe case. When acne is severe, one of the treatments that may be needed due to increased levels of infection are antibiotics, which will need to be prescribed by a doctor.

There are a number of functions that are performed by antibiotics for acne. Antibiotics can help to reduce the chemicals that are produced by the white blood cells, cause a decrease in the number of bacteria in the follicle, and can reduce the free fatty acids in the sebum. This can all help to reduce the swelling and fight infection. There are a number of antibiotics that can be used for the treatment of acne, and these include:

* Tetracycline
* Minocycline
* Erythromycin
* Doxycycline
* Clindamycin

Each of the antibiotics that are commonly prescribed for the treatment of severe acne have certain contraindications and side effects, and it is important for the patient to ensure that he or she reads up about these. Additionally, it is important to follows the instructions carefully with regards to how and when to take these medications. Take note of the of dosage instructions, and if youre at all unsure, talk with your doctor about what he has suggested.

In order to get antibiotics for acne you will need to visit your doctor or dermatologist ,because they are available on a prescription-only basis. Although there are over the counter medications suitable for the treatment of milder acne, more severe acne that has become infected will most likely require antibiotic treatment./pbr

My Account of Broad Spectrum Antibiotics – Do They Cure Acne? November 29th, 2009

Author: Declan Holmesbr
Source: ezinearticles.combr
br
Im Declan and I have been an acne sufferer for over a decade – but in the last 12 months I have been clear of pimples and cysts. I have tried many different products and I have been prescribed cabinets full of medicines trying to get my skin clear, one of those medicines was Minocycline. Minocycline is an antibiotic used to treat skin infections like acne – my experience was a success at first, but ultimately it ended in failure – Minocycline did not help my acne – However something much better did.

I was diagnosed as having moderate acne and therefore I was prescribed 50mg of Minocycline to be taken twice a day. I was told that the antibiotic would work after a certain period of time (6-8 weeks). I started my course confident that the drug would work, at the time my acne was pretty bad – I had cystic lesions on my neck, shoulders and my face – which was becoming a social nightmare. The first 2 weeks saw very little to no improvement to the acne at all, but after 5 weeks I had noticed the cysts on my back had gone! I thought this was incredible. Most of the spots and pimples on my face and neck were still there, but they were no longer red or sore.

After 12 weeks the doctor started me on my second course of Minocycline. This was when I would start to get thrush, in my view it was worth it for all the good the tablets were doing. I have since learnt that thrush is thought to be a common symptom of Minocycline and many other antibiotic treatments. After 24 weeks my cystic acne had almost gone, but unfortunately this was as good as it got…

When I stopped the antibiotic treatment (As advised by my doctor), the spots started to come back, but this time it was much worse. The cystic acne on my back began to spread to a larger area and my neck was incredibly red and swollen. As expected, the doctor increased the dosage to 100mg, but there was little effect… Antibiotic resistance was thought to be the cause.

What I had experienced was an antibiotic resistance to Minocycline – this occurs because certain bacteria quickly evolve and become resistant to the drug, they then continue to multiply until the acne returns – this is much like the phenomenon of natural selection.

Fortunately only 6 months after giving up on the Minocycline and trying something else I was able to become acne free, but this treatment was not antibiotics – it was something much easier, and unlike antibiotics – its still working to this day.

What is Acne? – Understanding the Condition November 28th, 2009

Author: Stef Ebr
Source: ezinearticles.combr
br
The word acne has been described by many different names, such as acne pimples, zits, papules, pustules, lesions, nodules, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts but these are just terms that refer to the actual condition.

True acne is considered to be a disorder of the oil glands (called sebaceous glands) of the skin. These sebaceous glands are most prevalent on the face, neck, chest, shoulders and back. They contain a material called sebum, which is a lubricating substance for the skin that normally makes its way to the skin surface through the skins pores. The pore consists of a tiny hair and a hair follicle.

Acne problems start when the skin pores become plugged and the sebum produced by the sebaceous glands cannot get to the skin surface – instead it gets stuck in the hair follicle. Skin bacteria then starts multiplying in the follicle, the plugged pores become inflamed, and lesions on the skin appear. This is how acne develops and manifests itself.

The next big question is: Why? What causes acne to happen in the first place? There are different schools of thought on this. Some doctors say the cause of acne is not known, while others say that acne is hormonally induced. Some authorities insist that diet plays a big role in the cause and treatment of this condition, and some say that its genetics that tend to determine whether someone will have acne breakouts or not have them.

Whatever the cause is, whether its a constant and recurring problem, or just an annoying breakout once and awhile, there are millions of people in every age group that suffer with acne, from teenagers to adults.

Water Acne, The Facts! November 27th, 2009

Author: Nick Bellbr

br
One of the most important ingredients for a healthy, glowing complexion is water. The beauty secret of young skin is that it holds 14 pints/8 litres of water, mostly buried in the dermis and hypodermis, the deeper layers of the skin. The epidermis (the topmost layer) contains less than 10 percent of the skins water content, but it is of course this layer – in the overall visible condition of your complexion – that reveals what lies beneath. It is not just that you are what you drink. It is that your skin reflects what you drink!

The skin loses up to 1 litre of water to the atmosphere on a daily basis (more in dry weather). Therefore, you need to drink at least as much water again in response!

Okay, I know water sometimes can tastes just plain and boring! We suggest you jazz up your water by:

• SkinB5 – mixing water with SkinB5 will provide immediate results in treating acne. The powerful acne clearing nutrients of SkinB5 when combined with water creates a great tasting and highly effective acne treatment.

• Green, white or herbal teas – there is so much variety to suit everyones taste and style! Plus they are fully of antioxidants and other health benefits such as aid digestion.

• Vegetable broth – when vegetables (everything really including meats and bones) are boiled for a long time the nutrients are dissolved into the water. The longer you boil them, the more vital vitamins and other important trace elements are extracted into the liquid. Just observe the Chinese! Theres a whole area of culinary expertise on preparing soups and broths that involve boiling vegetables, meat and medicinal herbs for hours (and by the way these soups do not include the likes of chicken and sweet corn soup!). Now where are your Chinese friends? Go ask them to show you how to make yummy soups that are extremely beneficial to the skin and body. The results are almost immediate. I can guarantee you that your body and skin will feel the best if you drink Chinese medicinal soups on a regular basis! And please, only a small pinch of salt in your soup if you absolutely have to have it.br

Gluten and Acne November 26th, 2009

Author: Evan X Smithbr

br
Unfortunately it seems as if Gluten does in fact make acne worse. Eating a diet high in gluten causes inflammation of the stomach in many, this inflammation causes acne to get worse.

Foods high in gluten include: Cereals, pastas, grains, and breads! It is really hard to go through a full day without eating at least some gluten. In fact, it would be unhealthy to eat a diet that does not include at least a small amount of carbohydrates.

I recommend that you try to limit the amount of gluten that you eat for about a week or two. After a couple of weeks see if your face has cleared up any. If it has, stick with the low gluten diet, if it has not, gluten probably has nothing to do with your acne situation.

In the end, eating and living healthy is the best way to keep acne away. Drink lots of water! At least 8 cups of pure water a day, the more the better! Eating a diet low in fat and saturated fat is especially important. Fat causes sebum production to rise, which therefore causes acne. Cut out red meats from your diet entirely as well as butter, and you will see noticeable improvement within days in your acne!

Think about it this way: Eating healthy is good for your body in general, it is free, and it comes with great side effects! You will not get that from any other acne treatment! Give it a try!
